Grant County Real Estate Northern Kentucky's Southern Most County...

About Grant County
Grant County is Northern Kentucky’s southernmost county. It’s located at the very top of the Bluegrass Region and is known as the gateway to the Bluegrass. Grant County is within an hour of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati. Grant County was established in 1820 and is named for a nearby settler, Samuel Grant, the son of William and Elizabeth Boone Grant, and the nephew of Daniel Boone.
Early pioneers heavily traveled the “Dry Ridge Trace” (the Indian trail) which later became the Lexington-Covington Turnpike (a stagecoach route) and the line of travel for the Norfolk Southern Railroad. After tool gates were taken down, it became what it is known as today, “Dixie Highway” or US 25.
Grant County’s surrounding cities include, Dry Ridge, Crittenden, Corinth and Williamsburg. Each city continues to grow due to its convenient location to the Cincinnati area, Lexington area and Louisville area.
