About Kenton County
Kenton County is located in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and was founded in 1840. It is the third most populous county in Kentucky and is named for Simon Kenton, a frontiersman notable in the early history of the state. It is located at the tip of the Licking River, where it meets the Ohio River, in the outer area of the Bluegrass region of the state.
